One of my wife's art students is also one of my favorite subjects. I like working with the same subject, the same person, over and over. The more I draw and paint them, the more clearly I see them, whether in pieces that I work very diligently on or even in very quick sketches like the one above. If you ever want to know someone, draw them. Paint them.
